With two days to go before the start of the 2013 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany, two Dutch warmblood horses had to be withdrawn from competition due to health issues. The 5-year olds Dark Pleasure and Dunhill won't be participating in this prestigious event.
Horses.nl reported that Dutch dressage rider Gerdine Maree was qualified to compete Dark Pleasure (by Ufo x Jazz x ) for The Netherlands, but her black stallion sustained a minor injury right before departure to the venue.
Hastmagasinet posted that Swedish Olympic Minna Telde had planned on campaigning Dunhill (by Oscar x Cocktail) in Verden after receiving a wild card, but the horse is suffering from dental problems and won't make the trip to Germany. Dunhill is the 2012 Swedish Young Horse Champion in the 4-year old division.
