German's team gold medal winning junior rider's horse Eloy has been sold to Austrian JR team rider Diana Porsche. The Porsche family acquired the 9-year old Hanoverian bred Eloy (by Earl x Wendenburg) in May.
The 16-year old Porsche and her ride of one year, Florencia, were members of the Austrian team at the 2013 European Junior Riders Championships in Compiegne, France. She is trained by Dieter Laugks.
Laugks found Eloy for Diana and the family deliberately opted to buy an experienced yet young S-level dressage horse. Eloy already has an extensive show career. Under Christin Schutte the gorgeous chestnut competed at the 2009 and 2010 Bundeschampionate as a youngster, earning bronze as a 5-year old and fifth in the consolation finals as a 6-year old. Younger sister Lena took over the ride in 2011 and won team gold for Germany at the 2011 European JR Championships in Broholm, Denmark. Christin was back in the saddle in 2012 and she won the Hamburg Dressage Derby for Under 25 riders.
The stallion will now continue his career with Porsche. "Diana is very talented and works hard on herself. When I say something, she just does it. And she has a lot of feeling for the horses," Laugks said about his student. "I like Eloy's very active hind legs, the quality of flying changes and that he is supple through his whole body. He has an outstanding character for a stallion."
Porsche and Eloy plan to qualify for next year's European Junior Riders Championships and slowly progress to S-level.
