Dhannie, Spain's 6-year old representative at the 2013 World Young Horse Championships, has been sold to Javier Bacariza and Cristina Danguillecourt's Yeguada de Ymas, a Toledo and Florida based PRE stud farm that works closely together with Spanish Grand Prix rider Juan Matute.
Under his previous rider and owned Juan Francisco Fernandez Munoz, the black Hanoverian bred Dhannie (by Don Crusador x Weltmeyer) was one of Spain's most successful young horses. Already in 2012 he represented Spain at the World Young Horse Championships, where he finished 12th in the 5-year old consolation finals. He finished off the season by winning the National Young Horse Champion's title for 5-year olds in Zaragoza in October.
This year Dhannie was the highest scoring young horse in Spain on the show circuit (average of 84.30%), earning him a berth at the 2013 World Young Dressage Horse Championships in Verden. The pair finished 15th in the consolation finals.
Bred by Hinrich Engelke, Dhannie got trained by Fernandez Munoz since 2011. The gelding has now been sold to Yeguada de Ymas. Dhannie will stay in Spain until after the 2013 Spanish Young Horse Championships in October and then he'll make his move to Wellington, Florida, where he will be ridden by Spanish junior Juan Matutue Guimon.
