The 2013 Holsteiner Elite Auction in Neumünster is not just famous because of the outstanding jumping talents – successful dressage horses are also made in Holstein. International Grand Prix horses such as Jenny Lang's Loverboy, Uta Gräf's Le Noir, Charlotte Haid-Bondergaard's Lydianus and Carl Hester's Liebling impressed the whole dressage scene. All of them achieved great results under their international riders.
Meet your New Equine Competition Partner at Neumünster
Former British international Grand Prix team horse Liebling II (by Lorentin) was sold above the elite riding horse auction in Neumünster and was discovered by Carl Hester. At the 2009 European Dressage Championships they were in the silver medal team and 2010 they also took team silver at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, U.S.A. This outstanding dressage talent was discovered in Neumünster.
De Londo by (De Chirico x Lorentin I) made headlines last year for being the first ever dressage horse to become the top-selling lot of the Neumünster Holsteiner auction.
He was a 4-year-old gelding with expressive movement in all three gaits. He was trained and educated by Markus Suchalla. The new owner is really pleased with De Londo and he will be gently prepared for his future jobs.
Markus Suchalla advises the Holsteiner Verband dressage clients and prospective clients and is in charge of the training of the licensed young stallions. He boasts achievements to Grand Prix himself and won the 4-year-old stallion Federal championship with the Verband-owned stallion Catoo in 2011. He has got the ride on the dressage horses selected for the elite riding horse auction. He is always happy to answer questions about the dressage oriented horses in the auction selection.
This year’s auction collection consists of two highly talented horses heading for a future in the dressage arena by De Chirico x Cesano II and Dolany x Limbus. “Both horses have promise for the standard arena, are easily ridden and have a positive work attitude”, says Markus Suchalla, who is in charge of their training. Both of the horses were already placed in ridden classes or young horse dressage classes.
