The Trakehner licensed stallion Königssee has been put in training with German Olympic eventing and dressage rider Ingrid Klimke. She will take up the basic training of the bay stallion and determine his future in sport.
Bred by Dr. Elke Söchting and owned by Marita Schreiber, Königssee is a 3-year old stallion by Interconti x Tambour x Couleur First. "Even though he's still a bit small at age three, he really makes himself big under the rider," Klimke commented about her new ride.
"At the moment you can't say if he's going to be a dressage or eventing horse," Klimke explaind. "He will be trained very diversely with many group hacks outside as well as go into the field."
Königssee stood up for stud his first season this year at his breeder's station Elmarshausen and left the yard already mid August to began his training with Klimke.
Königssee was presented at the 2012 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster in October 2012, but rejected for breeding. However, at the after-licensing in Isernhagen, Germany one month later the appeal committee accepted him after all.
