German Olympic eventing team rider Ingrid Klimke is filling her barn with more dressage horses recently. After having been given the ride on the young Trakehner stallion Konigssee, Klimke has now also added the Oldenburg licensed stallion Sir Weihbach to her collection.
The 4-year old Oldenburg licensed Sir Weihbach is bred by Christine Arns-Krogmann and owned by the Dutch owned stud farm Jewel Court Stud in Wuustwezel, Belgium, which acquired the colt at the 2009 Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction in Vechta. The black stallion is by Sir Donnerhall out of renowned Oldenburg mare Weihegold.
Dam Weihegold is by Don Schufro x Sandro Hit x Figaro who was the 2008 Oldenburg Elite Mare Champion, 2009 Oldenburg regional young horse champion and a Bundeschampionate bronze medallist. Although she is only 8 years old, Weihegold has already produced seven (!!) embryotransfer foals of which five are filles and two colts.
Sir Weihbach arrived at Klimke's yard at the ened of the breeding season and will stay with Ingrid for long-term training. "The first winter training will help him to work relaxed and at ease with the other horses in the indoor," Klimke explained. "He works with much concentration over the cavaletti and is a quick learner."
