Anna Kasprzak's Grand Prix horse and NRPS licensed stallion Nintendo has been sold to the U.S.A. The 10-year old Dutch warmblood stallion has been acquired by Danish American Charlotte Jorst.
Nintendo has now been sold to Charlotte Jorst. "I am so happy to bring Nintendo to the U.S.A.," said Jorst, who trains with Volker Brommann in the U.S.A.. "He is a talented guy and I am looking forward to getting to know him better over the winter. When I tried him out at Andreas Helgstrand's stable, we just clicked! Nintendo is so beautiful and so much fun to ride."
Nintendo is a KWPN registered stallion originally owned by Gert Jan van Olst. The dark bay stallion is by Negro out of Rodieni R (by Monaco x Glendale). Nintendo was originally called Waterloo. He was presented at the 2006 KWPN stallion licensing but rejected in the Stallion performance Testing. In 2007 he was re-presented at the after-licensing but rejected again by the licensing committee. Instead Van Olst presented the 5-year old Nintendo at the licensing of the smaller NRPS society in 2008, where he got accepted. His name then changed from Waterloo to Nintendo.
The stallion sold to Anna Kasprzak as future Grand Prix horse but she never clicked with him. In 2012 the horse moved to the stables of Andreas Helgstrand to be prepared and sold.
Helgstrand's assistant trainer Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard began competing Nintendo nationally in Denmark in November 2012, scoring in the mid and high sixties in five Grand Prix level classes at three shows. In 2013 the pair made its international debut at the CDI Mannheim, where they got 68.638% in the Grand Prix and 72.708% in the Special. They continued to compete at the CDIO Rotterdam and CDI Falsterbo. They were also the guinea pigs in two tests at the 2013 European Dressage Championships in Herning. The duo Sigtenbjerggaard/Nintendo became the centre of attention in a big rollkur debate that flared up in Denmark after the 2013 Danish Grand Prix Championships, where they finished fifth overall after three rounds. In October the pair were entered to compete at the 2013 CDI-W Odense but withdrew from the event.
Charlotte and Nintendo will spend the winter getting to know each other with an eye on the U.S. qualifiers for the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, France. "He's a confirmed Grand Prix horse, although he has been only lightly competed," Jorst stated.
