The South German breed societies annually hold two winter licensings, the big one in Munich on 23-25 January 2014 and a smaller one all the way north in Neustadt/Dosse near Berlin on 14 - 16 November 2013.
Thirty-six stallions of various German and Dutch studbooks were presented for licensing and 16 were approved of which 8 were dressage bred. Four stallions received the premium label.
A Westfalian branded black Destano x Avec Coeur x Ferragamo x Pilot offspring, bred by Heinrich Ramsbrock, was the only dressage premium stallion in the lot.
A premium jumper by Cornet Obolensky x Calido I x Lord Liberty became the price highlight of the auction, selling for 86,000 euro to Heiko Schmidt. Seven licensed stallions were auctioned and they achieved an average price of 44,000 euro.
At the riding horse auction, co-inciding with the stallion auction, 26 young sport horses sold, the price highlight being the Mecklenburger branded Sylvester (by Sir Donnerhall I x La Piko x Tibet), which sold for 70,000 euro.
