FEI Dressage News

In a special conference call meeting this week, the FEI Dressage Committee decided to make a full 180° U-turn and preserve the Intermediaire II test for the 2014 show program.

During the FEI Dressage Committee Conference Call Meeting on 21 November 2013, the committee decided the scratch the Intermediaire II test from the dressage program entirely for 2014 and replace it with the Intermediaire M Medium tour test.

The committee has changed its mind, following requests from several national Federations to reinstate it as the test has already been used for riders to obtain qualification scores for the 2014 show season. The FEI has now reinstated a slightly revised version of the Inter II.

The FEI published the following decision after a special meeting on Wednesday 18 December 2013:

In order to make 2014 version of FEI Dressage Rules articles 422.2 and 422.3 clearer, the following options will be added under article 422.3.8:

U25 Tour:
-      Intermediate II – Grand Prix 16-25
-      Intermediate II – Grand Prix 16-25 – Grand Prix Freestyle

Big Tour:
-      Intermediate II
-      Intermediate II – Grand Prix
-      Intermediate II – Grand Prix – Grand Prix Freestyle or Grand Prix Special.

The 2014 version of the Intermediate II test is published here and will come into force as of 1 January 2014.
