Following the announcement of the 2013 Belgian Talent of the Year, the Flemish Equestrian Federation (VLP) also released the A and B Talent Plan Teams for 2014. The A-team has only five members -- four show jumpers and one dressage rider -- but the B-team has expanded from 27 to 36 riders.
The Talent Plan was established almost eight years ago and helps to promote Belgian young international riders across the Olympic disciplines to make a successful transition to the senior divisions.
A new "High Potential" category has also been created for riders older than 21, who can no longer be submitted to the B-team but which still have the qualities to become an A-team rider according to the expert platform. One jumper rider has been submitted as High Potential.
Jorinde Verwimp, runner up in the 2013 Talent of the Year competition, is the only dressage rider submitted to the A-team.
The dressage B-team includes junior and young riders:
- Lavinia Arl
- Eline Borrey de Coninck
- Alexa Fairchild
- Laurence Roos
- Nastassja Roussel
- Carole Schepens
