German A-team Grand Prix rider and Olympic individual medallist Ulla Salzgeber has acquired a new young horse for herself as future Grand Prix prospect. Salzgeber bought Quintessenz at the 2014 Handorf Extra auction in Munster on 19 January 2014.
Quintessenz is bred by Hubert Schulze and was previously owned by Hiltrud Kemmer. The 5-year old chestnut gelding is by Quaterback out of State Premium mare Escada (by Ehrentusch x Damenstolz x Apart).
"I tried him out last week and after two minutes I know this was MY horse," said a very enthusiastic Salzgeber. "He will make the trip to his new home next week after the show in Munster."
Ulla explicitly stressed the fact that the horse is hers. "I'm very much looking forward to training this chestnut with four white legs. He's mine!"
Salzgeber acquired Quintessenz for a knock down price of 40,000 euro.
