The Australian equestrian federation has announced the national Elite and A-squads for dressage for 2014. Nine riders have been submitted to the elite squad from which the 2014 Australian WEG team will be picked.
The Elite Squad is for combinations that have been identified as leading combinations in contention for the Australian team for the next Major Championships, which are the 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2016 Olympic Games.
The National A Squad is for talented combinations which, in principle, may not be ready for the next Major Championship, but may be ready for competition at the following Major Championships.
"Expressions of interest for the futures and youth dressage squads are reviewed on an ongoing basis," Equestrian Australia stated.
