The Irish Equestrian Federation has appointed Anne-Marie Dunphy as Pony Dressage Team Manager. This is the first High Performance programme in Ireland to be put in place for Pony Dressage.
Anne-Marie Dunphy is also an Irish level 2 Coach with considerable experience as an international competitor at Grand Prix level. Anne Marie first became involved in Dressage in 1992 having worked in many aspects of both the sport horse and thoroughbred industries. In 1999, with the help of top German trainer Conrad Schumacher, Anne Marie became established as one of Ireland’s leading dressage riders with several Regional and National Championship wins and success on the British circuit. Since 2001 she has represented Ireland every year at CDI competitions throughout Europe
Triona Connors, Horse Sport Ireland Equestrian Sport Co-ordinator said; “With the European Pony Championships in Millstreet this year there has been an increased level of interest in Pony Dressage. Anne-Marie has a huge amount of experience and we are delighted that she has taken on the role”.
Anne-Marie Dunphy commented, " I am very honoured to offered this position. With the European Pony Championships in Milstreet this year we have a great opportunity to inspire a new generation of dressage riders in Ireland and I am very excited to be part a High Performance program that will enhance the development of the sport on an ongoing basis."
