The biggest field of competitors, consisting of confirmed Grand Prix combinations as well as rising stars, will be on display this week at 2014 CDIO Wellington, FL. The second leg of the 2014 FEI Nations' Cup Dressage series kicked off with the vet inspection in sunny weather on Tueday 18 February 2014 . All horses but one passed the jog.
Nine teams from seven countries will line up in North America's only Nations Cup competition that is set to host both Big and Small Tour combinations. All horses passed the vet inspection except for Germany's Kim Jesse and Dirk Haese's Rhinelander bred Charming, which were the only pair referred to the holding box. Jesse's horse will be re-inspected tomorrow morning.
Team medals will be determined by the top three scores from the Grand Prix Test and Prix St. Georges Test for each team, combined with the team's best three scores from the Grand Prix Special Test and Intermediaire I Test. Additionally, a 1.5% bonus will be added to the team results for each Grand Prix/Grand Prix Special rider per team.
Individual medals will be awarded to the riders with the highest scores in the Freestyle tests (Grand Prix or Intermediaire I).
The CDIO Prix St Georges starts Wednesday morning 19 February 2014 at 8.30 AM.
