Caroline Roffman's Under 25 Grand Prix rider Sagacious HF has been leased to American U25 rider Chase Hickok until mid summer of 2015.
"Caroline wants to concentrate on Her Highness O and felt this would be a good opportunity for another rider to learn from Sagacious," owner Al Guden of Hyperion Farm told Eurodressage. "I agree and Chase seems to get along so well with him that it looks like a perfect match."
Hickok, who is a Stanford university graduate and a real estate agent by profession, won individual silver and bronze at the 2011 North American Young Rider Championships. She is engaged to German dressage rider Kevin Kohmann who will be training her on Sagacious.
Sagacious is a 15-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Welt Hit II x Cocktail. The refined black gelding came into the spotlight under Lauren Sammis who started training him as a 6-year old. Their pair won team gold and individual silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games. Their partnership came to an abrupt end at the 2012 U.S. Dressage Championships.
Sagacious moved into training with Caroline Roffman who achieved a career highlight representing the U.S.A. as the first rider ever in the Under 25 division at the 2013 CDIO Aachen in Germany. They finished second in the short Grand Prix and Grand Prix Kur.
