German pony pair Celine König and her young stallion Daddy's Daydream took the FEI Pony team championship, individual, and kur tests with scores over 70% at the 2014 CDI Stadl Paura in Austria on 16 - 21 April 2014. König felt the indoor Austrian event lived up to her expectations and is now ready for the outdoor show season to commence.
“We went to Stadl Paura because I had heard it is a great international event where you have the possibility to enter into a competition with new international opponents,” the 15-year old Celine told Eurodressage.
Her talented stallion Daddy's Daydream (by Don't Worry x Dancing Fox x Cocky Dundee) is only seven years old, but he improved his performance every day. "During each test Daddy gave me a really confident feeling because he was always concentrated and gave his best," she said.
Heading home to prepare herself for the next competition, Celine hopes to work on riding her tests more precisely, and reward her pony when he has his happy face on. “When I come to the stable after school he is always happy and ready to see me," she stated.
Trained by her father Ludger, a successful Grand Prix rider himself, Celine enjoys the daily father/daughter training sessions each day in Duisburg, on the property where they live.
“The team trainer, Mrs Endres, also supports me and I am very sad that it is my last pony year because Daddy is my favourite partner and I love going to the competitions with him," she admitted. "That is why I will enjoy this year and give my very best. Moreover I still go to school everyday and in 2 years after I complete my school studies I want to go to a University."
Not sure yet as to what she would like to study, Celine knows she lacks the free-time most students have because she goes riding every day. “But it’s definitely worth it," she added.
