German former Young Rider Marc Lingelbach and his 8-year old Hessian gelding Rolex were on time and on point, taking the Prix St Georges and Intermediaire l at the 2014 CDI Stadl Paura in Austria on 17 - 20 April 2014. Mark is proud of how the horse has developed over the last four years.
“Rolex has been with the family since the age of 4 and over the past 4 years we have won 23 S-level competitions," said 23-year old Lingelbach. "Stadl Paura was the second tournament this season and with 3 starts and 3 victories it was an outstanding opening for this year's competitive season.”
Lingelbach and Rolex scored 70.868% in the Prix St Georges and 71.289% in the Intermediaire I. According to Marc, Rolex (by Rodgau x Matterhorn) was very concentrated throughout the weekend and had no problems accommodating himself and relaxing after the long journey.
“In the opening competition on Sunday Rolex was in top condition and delivered an almost error-free test," Marc explained. "On the following Monday for the Intermediaire I he was even more powerful and expressive. It was a real pleasure presenting him!”
Travelling along with Rolex was Marc's 10-year old mare Dream Girl (by Dream of Glory x Coriander) to give her exposure to that sort of atmosphere. Marc acquired this mare from Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff and is excited to bring her up the Grand Prix, together with Rolex.
“My horses are training at the Kronenhof in Langen with Stefan Lange, and I would like to thank especially my parents and my coach, without whom I would not have come to this success," he said.
Currently studying law at the university of Frankfurt, Marc is enjoying his time in the big league, but will keep the fond memories from his time in the Young Rider divisions.
“My time with the young riders was great and I look back at this time and smile," he said. "I am still in touch with many of my previous competitors whom are now my friends."
