Anna Kasprzak's rising star for the future, Honnerups Driver, has made a winning debut at Grand Prix level this weekend at a regional show in Kolding, Denmark, on 9 - 11 May 2014. The 10-year old aced the Grand Prix with 71.333%
Honnerups Driver is a 2004 born Danish warmblood gelding by Romanov x Don Schufro. Under Andreas Helgstrand the horse won the World Young Horse Championships for 5-year olds in 2009 and sold to the Kasprzak family directly afterwards. At the 2010 World Championships he placed 12th in the finals.
For years Driver disappeared from public sight and was only very lightly competed by Kasprzak at small tour level. The tall liver chestnut gelding is now ready for Grand Prix and will probably be following in Donnperignon's footsteps as his successor
At the show in Kolding, Driver scored a winning 75.635% in the Intermediaire II and he placed first in the Grand Prix with 71.333% ahead of the former Verden horse Daijoubo (by Daddy Cool x Picandt), ridden by Spanish Severo Jurado Lopez (70.100%).
"It ended up being a weekend I could only have dreamed of," Kasprzak stated. "Driver was fantastic on both days. I'm so mega proud of him. And everything went well with Pepe's surgery. I'm so happy and relieved."
