2014 CDI Kapellen

The pony division at the 2014 CDI Kapellen last weekend was action packed with no less than 36 combinations at the start line. Dutch number one Lisanne Zoutendijk with Champ of Class also wielded the axe of power in Belgium, but Antonia Arl, Daphne van Peperstraten and Joelle Peters put up a good fight by taking top three places throughout the weekend.

Zoutendijk rode winning scores of 72.462%, 73.829%, and 74.850%.

What is interesting to note is that Europe's best pony combinations strategically avoid competing against each other throughout the season, so the going will only get tough at the European Pony Championships. So far last year's European medal winning riders Phoebe Peters and Semmieke Rothenberger are the only ones who have gone head-to-head this season in Saumur. Silver and bronze medal winning Lisanne Zoutendijk has not yet duelled with them at any CDI this year.
