Norwegian team trainer Thomas Dolleris Larsen has pre-selected five riders which will represent Norway at the 2014 Nordic Baltic Championships in Kristiansand, Norway, on 24-29 June and the 2014 European Junior and Young Riders Championships in Arezzo, Italy, on 9 - 13 July 2014. Norway is the first country to already select a part of its teams for the two continental championships.
So far Norway has pre-selected three junior riders and two young riders that will be part of the definite Norwegian team for Kristiansand and Arezzo.
"These combinations have proven that they can perform and deliver results," Lassen stated. "Some are of a level counted amongst the best in Europe. This can be a big advantage for these pairs to ride at the international shows in Hagen in June, where they can compete against the best in Europe, as a preparation for the Nordic Baltic and European Championship."
Riders who compete in Hagen are excused from showing at the national selection trial in Borge, Norway.
"This weekend we have a selection show in Norway for everybody else," Larsen told Eurodressage. "We expect to expand both teams to a total of 4 riders and 2 reserves this weekend."
So far the selected junior riders are:
- Alexandra Andresen - Belamour
- Carina Brynhildsen - Shiraz Black
- Amalie Haug Magnussen - Ravell’s Hercules
The selected young riders are:
- Astrid Rikheim - Cartier
- Caroline Steiner Jensen - Devellino
