Helen Langehanenberg will not be competing Damon Hill (by Donnerhall x Rubinstein) at the first mandatory German World Equestrian Games' selection trial at the 2014 CDI Perl on 27 - 29 June 2014. The horse has received a bye for this event and will appear in Aachen.
Langehanenberg and Damon Hill were already excused from the 2014 German Dressage Championships as the pair was second at the 2014 World Cup Finals in Lyon, France, two weeks before. Now the dressage committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee has also granted the horse a bye for the first WEG trial.
German team trainer Monica Theodorescu stated that "there is no doubt about Damon Hill's achievements. Because the stallion is still standing at stud until the end of June and breeding and competition are hard to combine, we gave him a bye for the first WEG trial."
Langehanenberg and Damon Hill will definitely be showing in Aachen, the second German WEG trial, as a member of the German team for the CDIO Nations' Cup.
