German dressage centre Gestut Wiesenhof has granted the ride on Trakehner licensing champion Donauruf to Danish Grand Prix rider Fie Skarsoe. The red roan stallion arrived in Fie's Luxembourg barn two weeks ago.
Donauruf (by Herzruf x Exorbitant xx x Habicht) was the champion of the 2012 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster, Germany. Bred by Veronika von Schöning, Donauruf sold at auction for 300,000 euro to Beate Conle-Hüttner of Gestut Wiesenhof.
Fie and her show jumping partner Ken Gruber are preparing the stallion in dressage and show jumping for his upcoming Stallion Performance Testing.
"Due to our good and long relationship with Fie, who has also successfully trained our horse For my Life the past few years, my mother and I decided to give Fie the ride on Donauruf for the preparation for the performance test," Killian Hüttner told Eurodressage. "It is always great to see how Fie manages to develop the horses in such a harmonic way. We are very happy that Fie took over the training of this very promising stallion. The future of the training of Donauruf will be discussed after the performance test."
Skarsoe has also trained and successfully competed Wiesenhof's licensed stallions Munchhausen and Monteverdi at Grand Prix level.
