French dressage rider Alexandre Ayache and his 10-year old Hanoverian gelding Lights of Londonderry have been submitted to the French A-team which is called the JO/JEM Team (Olympic Games/WEG team).
Lights of Londonderry is owned by Jean François Vesing and Alexandra Ayache. The chestnut gelding competed with Vesin until the age of 7 and in 2012 the 32-year old Ayache took over the ride. The pair made its Grand Prix debut in the spring of 2014.
French team trainer Jan Bemelmans and technical dressage director Emmanuelle Schramm spotted the pair this season and selected them to compete on the French team at the 2014 CDIO Rotterdam in June. Because of its potential, the pair has now been submitted to the JO/JEM Team.
"It's very flattering that the horse has been spotted and submitted to the team," Ayache commented. "it's a relief. The horse is improving at competition level. Compiegne was his 5th Grand Prix and the horse still has much potential for improvement. He works much better at home."
