Begin July 2014 Eurodressage correspondent Selene Scarsi was on the scene in Fritzens at one of the most beautiful shows in Europe, hosted at Evelyn and Klaus Haim-Swarovski's farm Schindlhof in the Alpine mountains. The small tour was won by Steffen Peters on Rosamunde, while the big tour classes fell prey to Austrian Victoria Max-Theurer who took four victories out of four aboard Augustin OLD and Blind Date.
The 2014 CDI Fritzens was also the venue where international Grand Prix and former German team member Karin Rehbein said farewell to competition sport. Rehbein competed two horses in Fritzens, Madeleine Winter-Schulze's World Idol and the small tour horse Royal Princess, which is owned by owners of the stable in Grossensee, where Rehbein moved to after her long-time base Gestut Gronwohldhof got sold.
At Growoldhof Evelyn Haim-Swarovski and Karin Rehbein got acquainted and they have been good friends ever since. "I came there to buy two horses, but that didn't work out. However, there was a connection between Karin and I as well as with her late husband Herbert. A little later I sent two horses to Gronwohldhof for training," Evelyn Haim-Swarovski reminisced.
Rehbein and the Oldenburg breeding stallion Donnerhall became the 1994 and 1998 Team World Champion and was third in the freestyle at the 1994 World Equestrian Games in The Hague. Rebein has now retired from competition sport but will continue to train riders and horses.
