Swedish Young Rider Emelie Aldenfalk has been nominated for the Comet of the Year Award 2014 which honours Sweden's biggest shooting star of the year. Aldenfalk is nominated alongside jumper Irma Karlsson and eventer Ellen Svennerstål.
The Comet of the Year Award is handed out annually during the Swedish Riders' Gala held in Stockholm, when the World Cup Qualifier takes place there. This year the Riders Gale is scheduled for 26 November 2014.
The Award is an initiative of the Swedish equestrian magazine Ridsport and readers can vote for their winner. The nominees are selected by the journalists of the magazine.
Emelie Aldenfalk lives in Kumla, Sweden, and has been highly successful aboard her Swedish warmblood Winton (by Warsteiner). While she has competed at junior riders' level this year and represented Sweden at the 2014 European Junior Riders Championships in Arezzo, she recently made the transition to young riders level and booked a victory at the 2014 CDI-PJYR Odense in Denmark, two weeks ago. Aldenfalk finished 12th in the Kur to Music Finals in Arezzo and dominated the junior riders' tour at the 2014 CDI Kapellen.
