Isabell Werth has planned to make her come back to the show ring with her number one Grand Prix horse Bella Rose at the 2014 CDI-W Stuttgart in Germany on 19 - 23 November 2014. It will be the mare's first show since her withdrawal due to injury at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, France, in August.
At the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, Isabell Werth and her 10-year old Westfalian mare Bella Rose (by Belissimo M x Cacir AA) finished second in the Grand Prix Team competition with a score of 81.529%. They were Germany's best scoring combination and spearheaded the effort for her country to win the team gold medal. The mare was withdrawn from further WEG competition right after the team prize giving ceremony, as she had turned unsound due to an inflammation of the laminae.
Bella Rose has recovered from her injury and will be back in action at the Stuttgart German Masters, but not in the World Cup leg. Werth has opted to ride the mare in the Special tour, while she'll bring Don Johnson (by Don Frederico x Warkant) for the CDI-W leg.
"I'm so happy. Bella Rose is sound again," Werth said. "The worries for Bella were very heavy on my heart. Our withdrawal (at WEG) was such a pity, but the other girls on the team pulled out all the stops."
Werth confirmed that her new goal with Bella Rose is the 2015 European Championships in Aachen.
