The Trakehner stallion Gribaldi has dethroned Hanoverian De Niro as the leading dressage sire on the 2014 WBFSH Sire Ranking. Gribaldi captured the top spot as sire of the highest scoring international Grand Prix horses.
Bred by Marika Werner, Gribaldi is born in 1993 and is sired by Kostoloany x Ibikus x Flugsand. He is owned by Joop van Uytert and Paul Schockemohle and was competed at Grand Prix level himself by Edward Gal in the mid 2000s.
Gribaldi scored 29,497 points on the 2014 WBFSH Sire Ranking. Top contributor to that score is Totilas, who placed fourth on the 2014 WBFSH Dressage Horse ranking. Other highly ranked Gribaldi offspring include Siro, Unee BB, Painted Black and Thriller.
De Niro landed second place with 25,253 points thanks to Desperados, D'Agostino and Voice. Florestan is in third place with 16,621 points thanks to Fabriano, Flirt and Fleetwood amongst others.
