Spanish show organizer Top Iberian has made a bid for hosting the 2016 European Children, Junior and Young Riders Championships in 2016 in Madrid. They are the only candidates at the moment to host this continental dressage championship in three divisions.
Katharina Braren of Top Iberian confirmed to Eurodressage that they have officially applied to host the 2016 European JR-YR Championships. "Yes, we would be really happy if we get the allocation," Braren stated.
The location of the event would be the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid and the proposed dates are 6 - 10 July 2016.
Top Iberian already has built up quite some experience staging international dressage events. In 2015 they will be hosting the CDI's in Barcelona, Jerez de la Frontera and Madrid.
The FEI Bureu will decide in the spring of 2015 on the final allocation of the event. There are no candidates so far for the 2016 European Pony Championships.
