Van Peperstraten Wins First Leg of 2014-2015 KNHS FEI Pony Cup in Nieuw en St. Joosland

Daphne van Peperstraten became the winner of the well attended first qualifier of the 2014-2015 KNHS FEI Pony Cup show circuit at equestrian centre De Kroo in Nieuw en St. Joosland on Tuesday 30 December 2014. Aboard her top pony Don Camillo du Bois, Van Peperstraten dominated a field of 38 riders and has set the tone for the 2015 show season for Dutch FEI Pony riders.

Coached by Marlies van Baalen, Van Peperstraten and her Dornik B offspring Don Camillo du Bois scored 70.77% to win the trophy, but the pair felt tough competition from Veronique van der Panne on the Welsh pony Rhyfedd Spike (by Veenstra's Promse), who finished second with a fraction of a point less on 70.73%. Zoe Kuintjes and the grey Elin Nonsisdador (by Nostradamus) landed third place with 69.66%.

The first FEI Pony Cup qualifier in The Netherlands was very well attended with no less than 38 combinations braving the cold to compete at De Kroo. The top five included two more experienced FEI pony riders. Van Peperstraten slotted in fourth with her younger pony, Wonderful Girl (by Wimbledon) on a score of 69.27%, followed by Guusje van Heeswijk on the bay mare Klavertje Character (by Condor II) with 68.72%.

"Wow, what a great way to end 2014," Van Peperstraten commented. "I won the first show of the Pony Cup with Don Camillo and was fourth with Wonderful Girl. I'm so proud because both went really well."
