The Western European League World Cup season opening competition, the CDI-W Odense, might relocate to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, in 2016. Show organizer Bo Kristoffersen of JBK Horse Shows revealed these relocation plans at a jumping competition in Wellington, Florida.
JBK is the leading Danish show organizer with the well attended international dressage world cup qualifier in Odense and the CSIO at the Bernstorffsparken in Copenhagen on their roster. They also staged the 2013 European Dressage and Show Jumping Championships in Herning.
According to Dressage News, JBK wants to move to Copenhagen's Royal Arena, which is currently under construction, so that they can host the dressage and show jumping world cup qualifier in a larger arena to attract bigger crowds.
During the 2013 European Championships it was rumoured that the big Jyske Bank indoor arena in Herning would become a new venue for international winter equestrian competitions, but so far these plans have not yet become concrete.
