Belgian dressage riders Claudia Fassaert and Jorinde Verwimp have received an employment contract as top sport athletes of the Belgian BLOSO sport federation.
The 44-year old Claudia Fassaert was already contracted by BLOSO but has received an extension until 31 October 2015. Aboard the 15-year old Donnerfee (by De Niro x Rosenkavalier) Fassaert has been a member of the Belgian Grand Prix team since the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. She was Belgium's only dressage representative at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
For the first time, BLOSO has signed a Belgian young talent: VLP Talent of the Year 2014 Jorinde Verwimp, who won kur bronze at the 2014 European Young Riders Championships in Arezzo and has made a successful transition to Under 25 Grand Prix level. The 21-year old Verwimp has received an employment contract from 1 January 2015 - 31 March 2016.
Jeroen Devroe was the first Belgian Dressage rider to have a BLOSO contract, already back in March 2007. He received it when he campaigned his first international Grand Prix horse Paganini, but lost the contract in 2013 after his second top horse at the time, Apollo van het Vijverhof, became injured in the late spring of 2012.
