American top Grand Prix rider Catherine Haddad-Staller has sold her number one Grand Prix horse, Hotmail, to client Rowan 'O Riley but will retain the ride on her 13-year old Oldenburg gelding.
Amateur dressage rider Rowan 'O Riley of Wellesley, Mass, has acquired ownership of Hotmail (by Michellino x Havel x Veritas) and will be sponsoring Haddad in her coming high performance pursuits on the chestnut gelding.
Haddad has expressed her short term goals are the 2015 World Cup Finals in Las Vegas and a U.S. team place for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Haddad put Hotmail on the market last fall but was able to negotiate a sale with 'O Riley to keep the horse available to her and team U.S.A.
"I am extremely proud to support this talented pair," said 'O Riley. "I have a sponsor," Haddad exclaimed on Facebook. "Thank you, Rowan, and thank you, Hotmail, for bringing so much to my life and being the superstars that you are."
'O Riley has recently been competing the Belgian warmblood Rebel Rockstar (by Feinschnitt van de Richter x Ramiro), which was shown by the late Canadian Jon Costin at the 2001 World Young Dressage Horse Championships in Verden.
