At an auction held at the Marbach State Stud on 14 March 2015, the 4-year old chestnut stallion Laurens became the top selling horse, switching owners for 35,000 euro.
The Marbach State Stud has been holding an annual auction and the 2015 edition was the most successful one since 2009. Twenty of a collection of 21 horses sold.
The 2011 born stallion Laurens (by Lorenzio x Metteur) sold to a Stuttgart based young rider for 35,000 euro.
German former Olympic team rider Martin Schaudt acquired the second most expensive horse in the auction, the 3-year old Jefferson (by Jazz x Chico's Boy). He paid 21,000 euro for him.
The jumper Lotus (by Lavaletto x Casall) sold for 14,500 euro to a local yard. Swiss Grand Prix rider Tanja Gerber bought the 3-year old Dornfelder (by Demetrius x Metteur) for 8,200 euro.
The average price for a horse at this action was 11,300 euro. Five out of 20 horses sold abroad, with Switzerland being the biggest foreign customer.
