2015 CDI Hagen

Exactly 20 days before the 2015 equestrian festival Horses & Dreams meets Australia will be launched, organizer Ullrich and Francois Kasselmann as well as the Australian dressage rider Lyndal Oatley, German national dressage coach Monica Theodorescu and Heinrich-Hermann Engemann, discipline trainer of the German show jumping riders, provided an outlook on the happenings at the Hof Kasselmann in Hagen at the Teutoborg Forest on 22 - 26 April 2015: the three main issues will be sports, culture and Australia.

"The fact that Australia represents the guest country at Horses & Dreams this year can certainly have a positive impact on dressage and show jumping in Australia,“ explained organizer Ulli Kasselmann, as the “Aussies” would be able to gain more international experiences. The Australian show jumping riders James Paterson-Robinson and Jamie Kermond will travel to the Southern Osnabrück area, Lyndal Oatley, Kristy Oatley and Briana Burgess will represent Down Under in the dressage division.

Apart from the outstanding sports highlights, Horses & Dreams will not only be a huge family party for the more than 60,000 visitors, but also for the athletes. “My home country is guest in my new home country, and all my beloved ones will gather. Horses & Dreams will be a huge family party for me,” dressage rider Lyndal Oatley happily says. She will compete with the futurity prospect Diva in the Almased Dressage Stadium. Deja, the dam of the black mare, won the last two years with husband Patrik Kittel in Hagen. Oatley also relies on her championships horse Sandro Boy in the Big Tour with whom she had already participated at Olympic and World Equestrian Games.

The German trainers are also looking forward with confidence to the event at the Borgberg: Horses & Dreams is top venue for both disciplines and a super springboard for riders and horses. “All riders would like to participate as the tournament is incredibly popular,” explained Monica Theodorescu the great demand for starting places at Horses & Dreams. The trainers start to look towards the European Championships in Hagen: fitness and form of the horses, development of the horse/rider combinations, who shines with brilliant performances shortly after the World Cup Final in Las Vegas. Germany was well prepared with series such as the Nuremberg Cup and the Louisdor Prize, covering all age groups and sports levels, Theodorescu explained. “This is perfect to prevent losing talented, promising youngsters.”

Horses & Dreams is also springboard and top venue with the show jumping riders. “Hagen is a “rider magnet”,” knows Francois Kasselmann, responsible for the show jumping classes, as basic conditions are perfectly suitable for horses and riders. Discipline trainer Heinrich-Hermann Engemann knows this, too, and he regularly invites young riders to compete at Horses & Dreams to plan future competitions for the riders during the season. The DKB-Riders Tour is the perfect springboard for an international career. And exactly this series starts again in Hagen in 2015: The ninth of the world rankings, Marcus Ehning, will participate, just as the British riders Michael, Robert and John Whitaker, but also young local riders such as Patrick Stühlmeyer and Andreas Kreuzer.
