2015 KNHS Junior-Young Riders Cup

Junior rider Lisanne Zoutendijk and young rider Jeanine Nieuwenhuis became the winners of the third leg of the 2015 KNHS Junior-Young Riders Cup show circuit, which took place in Uden, The Netherlands, on Sunday 26 April 2015. Twenty-eight junior riders and eighteen young riders gathered at Stable Olympic for this Dutch team observation trial.

The experienced former FEI Pony rider Lisanne Zoutendijk has made a smooth transition to junior level and won the qualifier in Uden aboard Watteau (by Jazz x Houston). The pair scored 72.342% to win the division. Robin Bernoski and the 8-year old Dutch bred Clever (by Flemmingh x Goodtimes) were the runners up with a score very close to the winner's mark. They got 72.162%. Febe van Zwambagt completed the top three on her chestnut Las Vegas (by Lord Loxley x Louis Le Bon) with 71.441%.

In the young riders division Dutch team routinier Jeanine Nieuwenhuis aced the class on the 9-year old Dutch bred Hexagons Baldacci (by Havidoff x Rubiquil) with a solid 73.114%. She was the only rider able to break the 70% barrier. Franka Loos and the black Oldenburg bred GG Flow Cadanza (by Florencio x Rubinstein) scored 69.781% and tied in second place with Lotte Meulendijks on the 19-year old Dutch bred Ohio (by Indoctro).

"The total image worked," said judge Adriaan Hamoen about winner Nieuwenhuis. "Baldacci is a well developed horse, which moved more over the back than what he used to do. We were able to give sevens and 7.5s. The canter pirouettes even earned her 8s. We saw a very nice, fun group of riders of which the top six, seven were really on each others' heels. I believe these combinations will be part of the European Championships."
