German Dorothee Schneider and the 9-year old Showtime won the first big tour class of the weekend at the 2015 CDI Fritzens on Friday 26 June 2015. Hosted at Klaus and Evelyn Haim-Swarovski's beautiful Schindlhof in the Austrian Alps, the CDI Fritzens is one of the most spectacular shows of the year with its stunning location and amazing hospitality.

Schneider and Gabrielle Kippert's Hanoverian gelding Showtime (by Sandro Hit x Rotspon) topped the Grand Prix for Special with a strong 73.480% score, placing first unanimously with all five judges. The panel included Thomas Lang, Anne Gribbons, Isobel Wessels, Annette Fransen-Iacobaeus and Susanne Baarup.

"I can't believe. I knew he could do everything, but that he would be so exact to my aids in a full Grand Prix at an international show impresses me much," said Schneider about her developing Grand Prix horse Showtime. Dorothee has been riding the gelding for the past six years. "My thanks go to Gabi (the owner) who allows me to ride this horse. Showtime has much willingness, has a very good character and a good engine behind. I'm looking forward to the Special on Sunday.

Nineteen riders contested the Grand Prix for Special on Friday. German A-team rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl slotted in second aboard her developing Grand Prix horse Zaire, an 11-year old Dutch bred Son de Niro x Jazz offspring. The duo scored 70.240% and edged out Michael Eilberg on Woodlander Dornroschen (by Dimaggio) with 69.660%.

The best placing Austrian rider was the 28-year old Alexandra Slanec on her 13-year old home trained Hanoverian Lord of Dream (by Londonderry x Weltmeyer). She placed fourth with an 67.900% earning test. Slanec trains with Gunter Zach.

"A fourth place in such a world class field, it's an absolute dream," said Slanec. "Lord did not let me down, even though he recently had a minor injury to his hind leg."

British Michael Eilberg was the winner of the Prix St Georges, the opening class on Friday morning. Aboard his double World Young Horse Champion Woodlander Farouche (by Furst Heinrich x Dimaggio), Eilberg rode a faultfree test which cored 76.579%. Sissy Max-Theurer's assistant trainer, the German Wibke Bruns, finished second on the Baden Wurttemberger bred Donna Caribica (by Don Frederico x Krack C)) with 72.026%. Bruns also took third place on Max-Theurer's Oldenburg stallion San Francisco (by Sandro Hit x Donnerhall --- previously named San Doncisco) with 71.421%.
