Isabell Werth has made the final decision to withdraw Bella Rose from German team selection for the 2015 European Dressage Championships in Aachen, Germany, on 11 - 16 August 2015.
Bella Rose was scracted from competing at the final German team trial at the 2015 CDIO Hagen on 10 - 12 July 2015, but both the rider and the German team selectors left the door open for the mare to prove form right after Hagen.
Bella Rose has not been out since the 2014 CDI-W Stuttgart last November and sustained a knee injury. At the end of June Isabell brought along Bella Rose for training at the 2015 CDI Fritzens but no show start took place. At the 2014 World Equestrian Games Bella Rose also had to be withdrawn after the Grand Prix for an inflammation in the hoof.
"The Hanoverian Johnny (Don Johnson) is now first choise for the European Championships in Aachen as Isabell Werth has decided to give her top mare Bella Rose more time after her recovery time from injury," the German equestrian federation released.
Werth explained that, "I don't want to beat around the bush. The topic Bella is no longer on the table. We have made a clear decision. She's at the beginning of her career and I still have much more in store with her."
