The CDIO Grand Prix Special in Hagen on Saturday 11 July 2015 produced three amazing personal best results. Kristina Bröring-Sprehe, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Isabell Werth rode to their personal high scores with their horses Desperados FRH, Unee BB and Don Johnson FRH, finishing first, second and third.
Like on Thursday in the Nations Cup, Kristina Bröring-Sprehe from Dinklage was again the undisputed leader, convincingly winning the test with a final score of 83.32%.
“Despi presented a super performance despite the heat. Yesterday, we worked a bit more because after the stormy Grand Prix, he was a bit confused. This definitively paid off today,” the rider of the 14-year-old De Niro-son happily explained.
The runner-up Jessica von Bredow-Werndl was also enthusiastic after her personal record: “Unee is incredible. I am now able to ride him more courageously to slowly display all his qualities.” Following her present performances in Hagen, Bredow-Werndl is now considered to be seeded for the European Championships, and the young rider from Bavaria is ready to compete: “Provided we will be nominated, we will try to even notch up our performances. But now Unee will be allowed a break.”
Third in the team of „high scorer“ was Isabell Werth in the saddle of Don Johnson FRH. “Johnny accepted the challenge and did a super job. I was finally able to let him go and particularly scored in the canter.”
The international Grand Prix-judge Katrina Wüst who will also judge at the European Championships in August, was enthusiastic about the performances in Hagen. “We indeed saw top sports and strong international competitors,” the experienced championship judge said, and she is looking forward to seeing many of the riders again in Aachen.
Six-time Olympic champion Isabell Werth expects the same: „I think I am allowed to say that, but I assume that we all three can be relaxed with regard to the tournament in Aachen.”
