The Danish equestrian federation has announced the team that will represent Denmark at the 2015 European Dressage Championships in Aachen, Germany, on 12 - 16 August 2015.
The Danish team has set as goal to achieve an Olympic qualification. For that it has to finish within the top six of the team ranking in Aachen. The top three countries will get a ticket to Rio not counting Germany, The Netherlands and Great Britain, which already achieved their berth at the 2014 World Equestrian Games.
"The most important challenge for us at the European Championships is securing Olympic qualification," said team captain Kimi Nielsen. "Anna and Mikala are riders with team experience, but Rikke and Daniel are new comers, so this is a young team we're fielding, but I believe that they will all give their 100% to produce good performances and get that Olympic qualification."
Denmark will be represented by:
- Anna Kasprzak - Donnperignon
- Mikala Munter Gundersen - My Lady
- Rikke Svane - Finckenstein
- Daniel Bachmann Andersen - Loxana
Remarkably absent from this year's team selection process was Lars Petersen on the mare Mariett. The duo went to the 2015 World Cup Finals in Las Vegas in March as Denmark's second highest scoring pair that year but the 17-year old mare has now been shown since then.
