Swedish dressage riders Lina Andersson and Carl Hedin are the recipients of the 2015 Ajax Stipend. The news was announced at the 2015 CDIO Falsterbo on Saturday 11 July 2015.
The annual Ajax recipients are chosen by founder Ulla Håkanson in co-operation with Jan Brink, Kyra Kyrklund and Eva-Karin Oskarsson. The stipend offers financial support to rising Swedish star riders for their training and competition career.
This year the scholarship was awarded for the eleventh time. Each recipient received a cheque of approximately 21,000 euro to be spend in the next two years.
Lina Andersson is a 24-year-old dressage rider who lives in Vellinge, Sweden. She works full time with horses and has two on the road to Grand Prix. She is trained by Adelinde Cornelissen.
Carl Hedin is a 23-year-old dressage rider who lives half the year in London and half the year in Falkenberg, Sweden. He's a student at Royal Holloway, University of London where he studies management. He has worked for Gestut Bonhomme and Danish trainer Hasse Hoffmann in the past.
