With all 72 dressage horses arrived on the Aachen show grounds for the 2015 European Dressage Championship this week, it was a training day in the main stadium on Monday 10 August 2015. Eurodressage's German correspondent Barbara Schnell captured these lovely photos of the riders schooling their horses and familiarizing them with the huge stadium where the action will take place.
Nine years after the 2006 World Equestrian Games, dressage will return to the holy show grounds of the Aachen grand show jumping stadium which can seat up to 45,000 people. The atmosphere in that arena is incomparable to any equestrian venue in the world and the 2015 European Dressage Championships will undoubtedbly the highlight competition of the year.
The horse inspection takes place on Tuesday morning and the competition begins on Wednesday 12 August 2015 at 9h30 with the first group of Grand Prix riders for the team competition.
