Sara van Deurs Petersen and Farbenfroh were the undefeated winners of the FEI pony level classes at the 2015 Danish Pony Championships held in Vallensbaek, Denmark, on 28 - 30 August 2015. Van Deurs Petersen won the gold medal, while Louise Fauerholm Christensen was the clear silver medalist and Nikoline Ulrich landed bronze with three consistent rounds.
Sara van Deurs Petersen was the team bronze and kur bronze medalist at the 2015 European Pony Championships in Malmo, Sweden, at the beginning of August and fulfilled the expectations as favourite for the national title aboard her 12-year old pony Farbenfroh (by Farewell III x Rakt's Rocky). The duo won all three rounds with 75.769%, 75.732% and 77.225% to total 228.726 points for gold.
The 16-year old Van Deurs Petersen, who is trained by the 2012 and 2013 European Young Rider Champion Cathrine Dufour, is in her last year on ponies and was thrilled with the title.
"I had three amazing test," van Deurs Petersen told Eurodressage. "The first was very relaxed, but with no big mistakes. In our second test he was a bit fresh in the walk and canter, but did a good job anyway. The freestyle was something special for me, it was my last test with Farbenfroh, so it was very emotional, and I also love to ride my freestyle! We started with a big mistake in the trot, he broke into canter when he wasn’t supposed to, but everything else went perfectly. When we got out of the arena, I got the news that I was the new Danish champion! It was a fantastic moment, which I will never forget! Standing on the podium and get the gold medal around my neck was an experience of its own."
Louise Fauerholm Christensen and her 12-year old Dutch bred Vegelin's Goya (by Verona's Bo Gi x Leuns Velds Darling Boy) were solid for silver after placing second in all three rounds. The pair scored 73.504%, 75.366% and 76.700% to total 225.57 points.
Nikoline Ulrich and her routinier Dornick Son, a 16-year old German Riding Pony gelding by Dornik x Bourbon) finished in the bronze medal position with three scores that placed her third three times: 72.949%; 72.480% and 74.750% to total 220.179. The pair stayed well ahead of the fourth placed duo and the 2014 Danish Pony Champion, Sara Aagaard Hyrm on the 13-year old German bred Der Harlekin B (by Golden Dancer x Dornik B), who now finished fourth on a total of 214.735%.
