Kristina Bröring-Sprehe's medal winning Grand Prix horse Desperados is getting a competition break for the rest of the year so that he can focus on his breeding duties. Desperados will make a come back to the show ring in 2016.
The 14-year old Hanoverian licensed stallion by De Niro x Wolkenstein II recently won team bronze and individual and kur silver at the 2015 European Dressage Championships in Aachen, Germany.
In the past after a major championships, Desperados would show at the CDI Stuttgart in November and make the new season come back in Dortmund in March. In agreement with her coach, German team trainer Monica Theodorescu, Sprehe has now decided that "Despi" will not be campaigned this winter on the indoor show circuit, but focused on breeding instead.
"For the Olympic season we want to prepare Desperados in all quietness, which is why we have begun the breeding season for him earlier," Sprehe told Dressursport Deutschland.
