Diederik van Silfhout and his young Grand Prix horse Bonzanjo swept the 2015 CDI Maastricht taking out two victories out of two at this Dutch indoor event in the MECC exhibition centre in Maastricht, The Netherlands. After winning the Grand Prix, van Silfhout and the Dutch bred gelding Bonzanjo aced the Kur to Music with 76.625% on Saturday noon 31 October 2015.
Van Silfhout's liver chestnut Bonzanjo is a full brother to Hans Peter Minderhoud's former number one ride Tango, who was last competed March 2014. Diederik and the 9-year old gelding scored a winning 76.625% to sweep the Maastricht CDI.
Diederik did not freewheel to victory, though, as he has young German Grand Prix rider Sönke Rothenberger closely on his heels. Aboard the 16-year old Rhinelander Favourit (by Fidermark x Worldchamp), Rothenberger ranked second with just a fraction of a point less, 76.275%.
Patrick van der Meer ans his tall 11-year old Dutch gelding Zippo (by Rousseau x Haarlem) were third a second time in Maastricht. For their freestyle they got 75.475% and referred British pair Lara Griffith on Wilfried Bechtolsheimer's Rubin al Asad (by Rubin Royal) to a fourth place with 73.625%.
