2015 Ecco Cup Finals

Pony riders Sara Aagaard Hyrm and Anne Sophie Sorensen, junior rider Camilla Søndberg Thomasberg Andersen, young rider Kristina Rasmussen and Under 25 rider Victoria Vallentin were the big winners at the 2015 Ecco Cup Finals in Middelfart, Denmark, on 3 - 6 December 2015.

The Ecco Cup series is a national show circuit for Danish youth riders in which they get the opportunity to practise the kur to music more often. A series of qualifiers take place throughout the year leading up to the big finals in which two rounds are contested for the overall championship.

In the smaller FEI pony category Danish team rider Sara Aagaard Hyrm won both rounds on the 9-year old FB Gangster (by Golden Moonlight x Dressman) to win the overall championship after scoring 70.447 and 74.042%. She edged out Caroline Falkenskov on Traeumer (by Trentino x Pour L'Amour) who was second twice with 68.252% and 69.625%.

Anne Sophie Sorensen on Klooster's Eltino In the tall FEI pony category the competition was tough and the overall ranking did not reflect the winners of each round. The most consistent performer was Anne Sophie Sorensen on the 12-year old Klooster's Eltino (by Aester el Nino x Bright Moon xx). She finished second in the first round (71.220%) and third in the second round (70.708%) but her total of 141.928 points put her first and granted her the overall victory. Michaela Navrsted and the 12-year old Gee Gee (by Going East x Nansen) was the runner up with scores of 68.821% (3rd) and 70.500% (4th). Sofie Hansen and the 8-year old palomino Prince of Glory (by Triple Tree's Prince Perfect x The Braes My Mobility) were good for bronze with 67.764 (5th) and 70.833 (2nd). The winner of round one, Louise Christensen and Vegelin's Goya lost their mojo in the final round and dropped to 14th place (60.250%) in the kur to become 11th overall. The winner of the kur, Victoria Bonefeld Dahl on Spartacus, was 13th in the first round and finished 6th overall.

In the juior riders' division the performances were much more consistent. Camilla Søndberg Thomasberg Andersen and her young, 7-year old Danish bred Rafaella K (by Skovens Rafael x Hertug) were the undisputed winners after scoring 71.360% and 74.208%. Anne Mette Lyager and the Danish bred 9-year old Brandtoftes Sjubell (by Don Juan x Ibi Bell) were second twice with 69.868% and 71.500%. Laura Hviid and the 14-year old Denzel (by De Niro x Weltmeyer) slotted in third overall with 69.079 and 71.208.

Kristina Ramussen and Dupran Young rider Kristina Rasmussen and her 10-year old Danish bred Dupran (by Soprano x Dunhill H) were a league of their own as the only 70% scoring pair in round one (71.886%) followed by a supreme kur victory in round two (75.542%). Caroline Aarosin and her grey 14-year old Daydream (by Royal Diamond x Midt West Ibi Light) were the runners-up with 68.684% and 71.667%. Maja Andreasen and the 12-year old Skjoldsgaard Monte Vo (by Munchhausen x Schwadroneur) were third posting scores of 67.939% and 70.708%.

A group of 8 Under 25 Grand Prix riders rallyed at Middelfart and the experienced Victoria Vallentin topped the board with Anna Kasprzak's 16-year old dark bay Select (by Sandro Hit x Grunstein). The judges rewarded her with 68.605% and 72.250%. Anne Sofie Aaen and the 16-year old Schambuca Solyst (by Schwadroneur x Alibi) were second with 67.481% and 71.083%. Julia Dankau and the 13-year old Danish bred Overgaard's Lawell (by Weltjunge x May Sherif) landed third place with 65.930% and 71.000%.
