Following their last meeting the dressage committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) has announced the A and B-team for 2016.
Eight pairs have been submitted to the A-team which is also considered the Olympic squad from the team for Rio will be picked. Biggest absentee is Isabell Werth's number one mare Bella Rose which has not been competed for more than a year following a string of injuries.
The B-team, which used to be a B and B2 team, has now been merged into one squad with internationally successful German combinations as well as talented, up and comping pairs.
The current A-team consists of:
- Anabel Balkenhol - Dablino FRH
- Jessica von Bredow-Werndl - Unee BB and Zaire
- Fabienne Lütkemeier - D'Agostino
- Sönke Rothenberger - Cosmo
- Hubertus Schmidt - Imperio
- Dorothee Schneider - Showtime and St. Emilion
- Kristina Sprehe - Desperados FRH
- Isabell Werth - Don Johnson FRH and Emilio
The new B-team includes:
- Bernadette Brune - Spirit of the Age OLD
- Jenny Lang - Loverboy
- Carola Koppelmann - Deveraux B
- Thomas Wagner - Very Keen and Amoricello.
- Beatrice Buchwald - Weihegold OLD und Daily Pleasure
- Anabel Frenzen - Cristobal
- Nadine Husenbeth - Florida
- Kathleen Keller - Daintree
- Victoria Michalke - Dance On und Wasabi OLD
- Sanneke Rothenberger - Deveraux OLD and Wolke Sieben
- Charlott-Maria Schürmann - Burlington FRH
