The U.S. Dressage Owners Task Force has named Kim Boyer Chairperson. Effective immediately, Boyer succeeds Bruce Hlavacek who recently resigned after serving as Chairman since the inception of the Dressage Owners Task Force in 2013.
Hlavacek will remain involved with the Dressage Owners Task Force as a member.
Boyer, a dressage rider and breeder of Pure Spanish Horses, will work closely with the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) to enhance the experience of horse ownership at all levels and broaden opportunities for horse ownership. Specifically, she will lead programs that develop current, and attract prospective, High Performance horse owners by offering a community and providing services and information. Increasing the number of dressage horse owners will give elite and emerging U.S. athletes more opportunities to reach their potential and succeed on the international stage.
“I am looking forward to serving as Chairman of the Dressage Owners Task Force having witnessed the passion and dedication of the people on the Task Force for seeing the United States remain a country of elite dressage athletes and horses. These are exciting times to own a High Performance horse in the United States and to support an American rider who competes at these top levels. We hope, through our activities and efforts, to attract a new generation of elite horse owners. All of us on the Task Force are excited about new initiatives for 2016 that support our current High Performance owners and bring more committed and passionate owners to the sport. It is a privilege to take over this role and continue the excellent work that Bruce has started,” said Boyer.
Boyer owns and operates Hampton Green Farm (HGF) in Wellington, Fla., and Fruitport, Mich. Her stallions and broodmares are imported from Spain and are representatives of top sport bloodlines. HGF foals have earned many significant awards and achievements. Boyer’s sponsored riders and her horses have won titles at prestigious national and international shows. Boyer served nine years as President of the United States PRE Association (USPRE) and eight years on the USET Board of Trustees. Boyer is a member of the Wellington Equestrian Partners and was instrumental in the development of the Global Dressage Festival.
