On the second dressage pre-selection day for the 2016 KWPN Stallion Licensing at the KWPN Headquarters in Ermelo, The Netherlands, on 10 December 2015, the licensing committee selected twenty-seven youngsters for the second phase.
Fifty-eight dressage bred colts were presented on 10 December and 27 made the cut. No less than nine sons by Apache (by UB40 x Krack C) were accepted. Wynton (by Jazz x Matador) had four offspring selected, Bordeaux (by United x Gribaldi) three.
"It started really positively on hard surface this morning and the stallions were able to keep that image in freedom," said licensing committee chair Bert Rutten. "We saw many tall, large framed horses who moved in the right way; also the sons of Apache, who were a bit tense in canter, and those of Wynton and Bordeaux. It was a good day and after two days we are looking forward to the second phase. The fact that a large group of selected colts comes from strong lines gives much confidence."
Two more dressage pre-selection days will take place on 11 and 12 December.
