The third leg of the 2015-2016 KWPN Stallion Competition, which was supposed to take place today Tuesday 5 January 2016 in Zuidbroek, The Netherlands, has been cancelled. The icy weather conditions in the north of Holland have made the roads dangerous to drive on, which led the Zuidbroek organizers to cancel the stallion competition.
The Dutch weather central KNMI proclaimed code red in the north because of icy roads that have already caused major car accidents due to extremely slippery roads.
"We think it's irresponsible for the event to take place," the organizers told the KWPN society. "The organisation is putting their heads together to have the Stallion Competition leg take place on another day. More information will follow."
The KWPN stallion competition was scheduled for Tuesday morning. Seventeen 5-year olds, eight 6-year olds, and one 7-year old were entered for the L, M and Z-level classes.
