The 5-year old Jackpot HS and the 6-year old Future Star became the winners of the small Bundeschampionate qualification show organized by the Wiesbaden-Erbesheim riding club on 7 - 8 May 2016. Sixteen horses in total were entered to compete in the L and M-level dressage horse classes which serve as qualifiers for Warendorf.
The 5-year old division was won by Kim Pfeiffer aboard Gabriela Nimerceag's Baden Wurttemberger bred stallion Jackpot HS. The chestnut Johnson x Dr. Jackson D stallion scored 7.8 for victory, which earned her the trophy but which was not enough to qualify for the Bundeschampionate. The criterium is 8.0 or higher. Laura Strobel and the Hanoverian gelding Dietrich del Sol (by Dancier x Welser) were the runners-up with 7.6.
In the 6-year old division Carolin Brandt rode the Oldenburg stallion Future Star into the money, winning the class with a strong 8.5 score. The chestnut stallion is by Floriscount x Dormello, bred by American Ann Kitchel and owned by Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff. Birgit Hild and Ingo Wittlich's dark bay Trakehner gelding Goldmond (by Imperio x Latimer) were a solid second with 8.1.
